“Cosmos” is the first track to be heard from The Sinclair Sinclair in 2015 and is released as a digital single via London’s Beautiful Strange on March 9th ahead of the release of the quartet’s debut album Breaking the Waves, due June 1st. The band talk about the record below:
‘Recording “Breaking the Waves” was a long process for us. When starting almost two years ago we decided to record only in a certain atmosphere that would make us unrestricted.
On this record you can feel the velvety reverberations of old panel buildings, listen to passionate rehearsal room drum jams and delve deep into the melancholic vocals that translate an autumn loneliness of a small island in the Gulf of Finland into sentences.
If you are curious to know what the aforementioned soundscapes translate into then listen to Cosmos. It’s a soundtrack for the nights when all of nature sleeps under a deep sheet of snow as quietly as if the world ended at the horizon.

The Sinclair Sinclair is an alternative band consisting of Keit Kukk - lead singer, Raido Rahnel - guitarist, composer, Taago Piisang - electronic soundscapes, Jan Pillav on drums.
Keit is a mesmerizing creature with a haunting voice. Her siren song invites you to a melancholic journey down dark night-time roads and foggy morning countryside’s all the way to the seaside where she drowns you in your own heartache.
The music, predominantly written by Raido, paints you a perfect picture of a voyage with its mysterious electronic sounds and rather ethereal yet robotic soundscapes which are grounded by the reverberations of the acoustic band.
Taago's ability to conjure up velvety chords that transfix you until you forget to breathe. Thanks to which their live shows are dynamic and powerful.
Jan is the liveliest of the four, with an ability to capture all eyes with his strong, passionate drumming that adds roots to the otherwise ethereal composition.
Their debut EP Dreamers of The Dreams took the viewers to a place where heartbreak translates into numbness. Lost loves are ghostlike entities that haunt the possessed for years passing by whilst they try to flee the pain.
Whereas Breaking the Waves propels us straight into the outer space, entraps us in its magnetic field like a pulsar and then leaves us hanging there in our ever unstable weightlessness.
Breaking the Waves is a record made slowly. Encompassing recordings of our dreams and desperate moments. Some of the songs portray our darkest side whilst the warmness of the vocals in others wraps you in their sanguine embrace transporting you to a world full of cosmic soundscapes layered with beautiful sounds.
Recorded in intimate atmospheres during the last 2 years, Breaking the Waves will be released in 2015.
The Sinclair Sinclair hail from snowy Tallinn, Estonia and is signed to London based label Beautiful Strange.
"The Sinclair Sinclair are back, and they are back with a vengeance. Intertwined against a shrubbery of electronica and four prickly branches of supernatural substance, “The Dreamers Of The Dreams” EP is a continuous tale of faraway alternative and absent-minded guitar bliss". Aerial Noise
“While not as sugary sweet as Cocteau Twins, they’re mining the same ethereal landscape much of the 4AD roster owned at that time”. KnoxRoad
“Their sound, influenced by the likes of The XX and Zola Jesus, makes for a sanguine and sultry vision”. Yvynyl blog
